Differentiated Roles for 21st Century Teachers

Delisio, Ellen R.  “Developing Differentiated Roles for Effective Teachers.” Forming Assessment Through Technology. Vol. 52, number 2.  Feb. 2010. Web. 17 March 2013.

This was an article that Cary recommended.  In summary this article focus was how to keep talented teachers in the classroom instead of them moving out of education or into administration.

In order to retain teachers the author talked about “unbundled education.” In which teachers become a facilitator of learning.  They would coordinate different services for student learning and thus lead to a holistic approach to learning.

Developing teacher leaders within the school is very important as it can lead to teachers leading book studies or setting up Summer PD, preparing presentations for BOE and administration.  I think this would also be the group of teachers who would lead the way in technology.  These would be “our connected teachers.”
